A place for programs not benefitting from the big money of televised football or basketball

I agree with Loyola.

So Now we have :

Men's teams

Loyola
CSUB
Navy
Denver
all should be in the top 10 somewhere.

Im guessing UC Davis (haven't heard much about their recruiting) and Old Dominion should be in the top 20? thoughts?

When does the pre season raking come out?

So when does the preseason poll come out! Anyone know?

Shame UC Irvine was dropped. They would of been high on the men's side.

Any ideas of other schools besides

Navy
Denver
Cal State Bakersfield
UC Davis
Loyola
UNCW
Harvard

I would assume they are all in the top 10! Thoughts?

look for UC Davis to have a shot at taking some relays to NC's, along with a few individuals.

I question the rules of a mid-major. How many people going to U of Denver and Missouri State? And I would say Delaware goes in there at least over ODU and Loyola. Ivy Leagues should be up there though for sure.

Last time I checked with Charlie Weiss, Navy plays major conference football.

I agree but no scholarships at Navy, I believe thats why that are considered Mid Major. I think ODU is better then Delaware, right?

With all respect to Navy and their sacrifice and hard work - the entire team is on scholarship.

Eh... given that the mid major poll is based on a duel meet and not a championship meet, I'd say Delaware might sqeeze ahead of ODU right now. Grady Carter has the upper hand in the 50 and 100 free. Blue Hens kill in both relays, which is huge duel meet points. Gillan wins the hundred fly and hundred back. Split diving. Roberts wins the two back. Thats seven wins in a sixteen event list including two relays, which I think should get you close to a victory. Its early in the season though. At CAA's ODU will probably beat Delaware though which is why the whole system is weird.

Isn't Navy, Air Force, and West Point all federal tax dollars at work?

As far as whatever is usually considered a mid-major heres my top three RIGHT NOW (and this doesn't include Ivy because how can you be ranked if you haven't swum yet):
1. Navy
2. Denver
3. UNCW?

Yeah I didn't do much research for that but I would imagine Loyola is up there with Morris's 500, 1650, 400 IM. Ozzy Torres's 50 free and 100 fly. And Jacob Drannan's whatever. I could see Loyola being a top five mid-major at the end of the year or even at the winter poll.

Seeing as Denver just got beat by UC Davis last friday you should maybe switch that up a little.
