In Memory of Ralph Crocker

In Memory of Ralph Crocker

Postby Guest on Mon Feb 19, 2007 5:08 pm

I swam with Ralph growing up here in Pensacola. We later were coached by him when he was an Assistant with PJCAC under Steve Baultman in late 1970's. He was a great influence on us all. His drive and his motavation pushed us all to our best times. What a totally committed and driven person. We all fed off of his emotions. To his family we offer our prayers for God comfort you. Ralph will be missed by us all.

In Memory of Ralph - A Great Man

Postby Lisa on Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:16 pm

I will never forget Ralph's smile on the pooldeck. He was a great coach, motivator, and mentor to all his swimmers. He taught me how to always look at the bright side and know that I can do whatever I put my mind to doing. I saw Ralph a few years ago at a swim meet in Charlotte. He still had that great smile and was the man I remembered him to be. We will miss you.

Margaret and Cameron you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My wife just told me the sad news . . .
Like many, I knew Ralph from Pine Crest Swim Camp. He truly was a great person and as a coach my most favorite. He could write the most demanding workouts. I had a blast swimming for him and I'm really sorry he is not leading his Auburn team to another championship. I know through several emails (back and forth) several months ago that he was taking the fight to the cancer. In his emails he was always postitive and looking forward to living life to its fullest. I will always remember Ralph and his "uranium" briefcase he use to take to the meets. He will truly be missed! Margaret and Cameron . . . I will be in touch.

I too was saddened by Ralph Crocker's passing. I admired Ralph very much when I was a swimmer/counselor at Pine Crest Swim Camp. He could also be alot of fun. He got me interested in Jazz like-Spyro Grya. He got me through Olympic Trials in 1988. God bless his family and friends.
