Navy is off to a perfect 12-0 record, Navy has posted wins over eight Mid-Major opponents. For the Midshipmen, the top spot is nothing new. They held onto throughout the 2007-08 season. Missouri State jumped up three spots to move into second in the men's ranking while Denver University retains its third-place slot. A January 10th showdown looms large for the academy and Cornell.
On the women's side, Miami has reeled off five wins against mid-major opponents and captured the Miami Invitational. Havard University, which finished second to Princeton in the 2007-08 ranking, enters at number two while San Jose State moves up two to third. Dave Jennings' charges will put their ranking on the line when the Redhawks take on #11 Ohio Suniversityon January 24th.
The CollegeSwimming.com rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged and submitted by participating teams. Rankings are announced four times throughout the season - November (Pre-Invite), December (Post-Invite), February (Pre-Conference), and March (Post-Conference).
