Delta, Ouachita Split D-II Matchup

Cleveland, MS , January 26th, 2008
The Delta State University swimming and diving programs split a crucial conference series Saturday against Ouachita Baptist at the DSU Aquatics Center with a little over a week remaining until the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference championships.

The Lady Statesmen defeated the Lady Tigers 164-123, while the Ouachita returned the favor with a 195-99 win over the Tigers.

“This was a big test for us today against a conference opponent”, Delta State head coach Brian Hein said. “We had some good times today on both teams, and I was pleased to see what we accomplished as a team. Now we just have to get ready for Monday against Henderson.”

“I thought the guys swam well and won easily,” Ouachita Baptist coach Jim Dann said. “The girls were not up for some reason and we did not swim like we needed to.”

Delta State’s women rolled to victory by downing Ouachita Baptist 164-123. The TigerSharks cruised to victory in 32 events, defeating Delta State 195-99.

The TigerSharks and Lady TigerSharks return to action in New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships Feb. 13-16 in Cleveland, Miss., at the DSU Aquatics Center.
