.: Misercordia Adds Collins

Nikki Collins, a former All-American swimmer at Penn State, has been named a graduate assistant coach at Misericordia University.

A distance specialist, Collins was a two-time All-American in the 1,650 freestyle. She placed sixth in 2006 and finished seventh in 2007.

She holds Penn State records in the 1000 freestyle (9:47.88) and 1,650 freestyle (16:12.44).

A native of Carmel, IN, Collins earned a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She will pursue a master’s degree in organizational management at MU.

“I’m excited to have an athlete of Nikki’s caliber join our staff,” said Misericordia head coach Jason Morini. “She will have a great influence on our student-athletes and our program.”

Collins will handle recruiting for the Misericordia women’s team which is coming off a second place finish at the 2008 MAC championships.
