
Limestone defeated Pfeiffer to take its first meet of the season in men's and women's swimming action on Saturday. The men won by a score of 109.5-60.5 and the women won by a score of 114-48 for a combined total of 253.5 -108.5.
Donna Wickman (Trincity, Trinidad Tobago) and Craig Jordens (Cape Town, South Africa) each took first in the 50 freestyle with times of 26.18 and 21.28, respectively. Marta Stepien (Poland) and had strong swim for the women in the 400 individual medley with a first place time of 4:37.38, while Chad McKenzie (Durban, South Africa) recorded a time of 4:12.91 for first on the men's side.
Linvern Lim (Port Dickson, Malaysia) turned in a strong time in the 100 backstroke at 52.70, with Wickham earning a time of 1:00.7. Carmen Adams (Conway, S.C.) and Gilles Gutnecht (Marsville, France) both took first in the 500 freestyle. Adams timed at 5:34.60 and Gutnecht turned in a time of 4:52.51.
Pfeiffer's first place finishes were in men's 1000 freestyle, with Zach McMicheal recording a time of 10:17.27, and in the 400 freestyle relay for the men and the women with times of 3:36.26 and 4:32.13, respectively.
Limestone will return on Saturday when the travel to Salisbury, N.C. to compete in the Catawba Boo Bash Relays. The Saints are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
