University of North Dakota head swimming and diving coach Steve Parsons
announced today the hiring of Stephanie Badylak as the new assistant
coach.
Badylak comes to Grand Forks from Sewanee, Tenn., where she most
recently was the assistant men's and women's swimming coach and
physical education instructor at University of the South. With the
Tigers, her responsibilities ranged from coordinating travel to
designing dry land practices.
"I am excited about the addition of Stephanie to our coaching staff,"
Parsons said. "She brings a good amount of coaching and recruiting
experience with her. Her enthusiasm for the sport and willingness to be
part of building something special will definitely help as we move
forward at the Division I level."
Prior to her move to Tennessee, Badylak spent two years as the
Hillsdale College assistant women's swimming coach and physical
education instructor in Hillsdale, Michigan. During her tenure, 10 new
Charger school records were achieved.
During the summer of 2006, Badylak served as a counselor at the USC
Schubert Swim Camp in Los Angeles, Calif., and from 2003 to 2005 she
was the assistant men's and women's swimming coach and assistant
aquatics director at SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, New York.
A 2002 graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, Badylak holds
a bachelor's degree in biology. A four-year varsity swimmer at
Hartwich, she holds multiple records and was a member of the 2001
conference championship 400 freestyle relay team.
