
Freshman Sandra Czerska won three events for the third straight meet as the Oakland University men’s and women’s swimming and diving team swept Wright State Saturday afternoon at the OU Aquatic Center. The men (2-1) won 158-140 while the women (2-2) beat the Raiders 189-111.
Winning two events each for the Golden Grizzlies were freshman Alex Aceino, sophomores Johanna Gustafsson, Anders Jensen, Tim Montague and Joe Rodgers and junior Chelsea Oates.
For the men, Aceino won captured the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events (50.49, 1:54.06, respectively) for the second straight meet. Picking up two wins each as well was Jensen in the 100 and 200 backstroke events (49.72, 1:50.22, respectively), Montague in the 500 and 1000 freestyle events (4:41.67, 9:39.53, respectively) and Rodgers in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.50) and the 200 Individual Medley (1:55.56).
For the women, Czerska won the 100 fly (57.05), the 200 fly (2:06.12) and the 200 IM (2:08.89). This is the third straight dual meet that she has won three events.
Oates won the 1 and 3-meter boards (287.02 and 259.87 points, respectively) for the second straight meet. Gustafsson won the 100 and 200 fly events (1:06.09, 2:25.33, respectively).
Oakland is back in the pool the weekend of Nov. 13. On Friday, Nov. 13, the men will travel to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan in a dual meet scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 14, the women will hit the road to take on Akron in a dual meet scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
