Yi-Ting Siow, Sr.

Arkansas

 

Arkansas senior Yi-Ting Siow recorded the nation’s fastest times this season in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200y individual medley to win both events and lead the Razorbacks to season-opening victories over the University of Kentucky and the University of the Cumberlands on Saturday at Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center.

Siow touched in at 1:01.73 to finish first in the 100y breaststroke, 2.85 seconds ahead of second-place teammate Leah Pierce. Siow turned in a time of 2:00.06 in the 200y IM, running away from the rest of the field by 5.83 seconds.

 

Female Diver of the Week

Courtney Forcucci, Jr.

South Carolina

Fort Mill, S.C. 

Courtney Forcucci continues to make an immediate impact on the South Carolina diving program as she won both the one- and three-meter events on Sat., Oct. 17, in a tri-meet with Virginia Tech and North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. The junior from Fort Mill, S.C., who transferred from Houston prior to the season, scored 331.85 in the three-meter event to overtake a pack of Tar Heel and Hokie divers, then scored 289.75 in the one-meter competition to edge out teammate Taryn Zack.

Rebecca St. Germain

LSU

San Antonio, Texas  

Swept the springboard diving events against Tennessee and qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Regional ... Emerged victorious in the one-meter with a six-dive total of 285.14 ... That mark is the 10th-best in school history ... Earned first-place in the three-meter with a score of 298.13.

Brad Craig

Tennessee’s Brad Craig earned two wins against LSU Friday and added eight more points in relay efforts to be the Vols’ top point winner against the Tigers. Craig also holds the SEC’s top 100 breaststroke time and is second in the conference in the 200 breast.  Swam the 100 breast in 56.35 and the 200 breast in 2:03.40 for the two wins.

Ryan Helms

Tennessee

  

The defending SEC Freshman Diver of the Year is still shining as a sophomore, sweeping the diving competition at LSU. Helms had a particularly brilliant day on the three-meter, just missing his career-best mark by less seven points. He leads the SEC on the three-meter springboard and ranks fourth on the one-meter.  Scored 312.00 on the one-meter and 397.57 on the three-meter.

Andrei Tuomola

LSU

Haarajoki, Finland

Won both of his individual events and played a pivotal role on two victorious relay teams against Tennessee in his first collegiate competition ... Swam to victory in the 50 freestyle with a mark of 20.62 ... Recorded a win in the 100 free with a time of 45.16 ... Spearheaded a victory in the 400 free relay (1:29.92) with a lead-off split of 45.14 ... Swam the breaststroke leg on the men’s winning 200 medley relay squad (1:29.92).
