Bentley University junior Jon Andrews (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) completed a second straight sweep of the diving events at the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships by capturing the one-meter Saturday at Southern Connecticut State’s Hutchinson Natatorium.

His efforts helped Bentley extend its lead in the team standings from 42.5 points to 82.5. The Falcons will enter Sunday’s final round with 585.5 points, and Southern Connecticut is second with 503.  Saint Rose is a distant third in the seven-team competition with 355.5 points.

Bentley also had one silver and one bronze during Saturday’s action. In the 200 yard medley relay, seniors Willie Connolly (Washington, Conn./Shepaug Valley HS) and Sam Laden (Cheshire, Conn./ Cheshire HS) combined with sophomores Dave Curran (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) and Joe Frantel (Canandaigua, N.Y./Marcus Whitman HS) for a time of 1:38.86, good for second place.
